Mr. Lester S. Rubinstein, Acting Chief Light Water Reactor Branch No. 4
Subject:
Catawba Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414
Dear Mr. Denton:
On March 21, 1979, Duke Power Company notified your office of our intent to file an amendment to the application for permits to construct and licenses to operate the Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, which would request authorization to operate each unit.
Accordingly the License Application, Final Safety Analysis Report, Environmental Report-Operating License Stage and other documentation were filed for completeness review.
In view of the TMI accident which has diverted NRC staff manpower and recent delays in the projected. fuel load date for Catawba, we request that the com-pleteness review be scheduled for completion as soon as possible. We then propose to update the application in mid-1980 to incorporate results of your review and other changes which may have occurred since filing.
It is also requested that correspondence from the NRC relating to the Catawba Nuclear Station be addressed to W. O. Parker, Jr. as noted in the License Application filed on March 21, 1979.
Ve truly yours,-
/
