Reference training page II-22. Radiological monitoring courses are conducted at the local level; however, due to a large turnover this training is a continuing function on tne part of local civil defense units.
Reference training page II-39. It is felt that the radiological nonitoring courses conducted at the local level would also be considered training for Radiological imergency Response Plans.
Refersnce cc =unications systems page II-o3. at tne present tine, sites aith two state planning appear to have a notiftertion proolem. For example, current notification procedures for Alabama / Georgia are: In the event of an unplanned release, the nuclear plant notifies the Alabama nadiological Faer:;ency Duty Officer. The duty officer then notifies tne 3eorgia Radiological Health Unit. The Georgia Health unit notifies the Secrgia State Civil Defanse Office and they then notify the local civil defense unit. The local civil defense unit is located apprcxi=ately fourteen =ile from the nuclear plant. It would appear that this is a tine consuming ndtification system. If feasibla, a systes involving simultaneous notifications would be more desiracle.
