The U. S. Uuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has been informed by Arizona Public Service, acting as agent for the Joint Applicants, that the group "has decided not to continue with licensing and other p eliminary activities associated with Units 4 and 5 at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station."
In view of.this, the NRC is ceasing the review process for these units and a Final Environmental Statement will not be published. However, we wish to acknowledge receipt of your comments on the Draft Environmental Statement (DES) issued in April, 1979 and to express our appreciation for the time and effort you expended in preparing them.
