Dear Mr. Miller:
The five-veck extension for submitting the Environ = ental Report on the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 (Docket Nos. 50-289 and 50-320), which you requested in your letter of Novetier 4, 1971, is ; ranted.
Although we are granting the extension, we wish to point out that in accordance with the revised Appendix D of 10 CYR Part 50, the Com:sission's regulatory staff must cake a complete review and evaluation of the environ = ental impact of each licensin3 actics and must prepare a detailed statement of environmental considerations.
In addition, during this process, the vicvs of other agencies of the proposed action have to be obtained and taken into consideratien.
To avoid delays, this procedure requires a prc=pt and ce=plete repcrt of the basic information from the applicant.
Accordingly, we urge you to send us the Supplemental Envirenzental Report as scen as it is available.
