Dear Mr. Gi ambusso :

SUBJECT:

T'4REE MILE ISLAND UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50-320 OPERATING LICENSE REVIE'4 SCHEDL"t.E On May 30, 1974 you sent a letter to us enclosing the " Operating License Safety Re 1ew Schedule".

In the letter you ssked that we review the dates associated with =ilestones in the schedule and ascertain whether we could teet them.

In our opinion, the dates given are realistic in view of the target dates for fuel loading and co==ercial operation, respectively.

It is our plan to submit a supplement to the Environmental Report on February 28, 1975. Discussions between our representatives and the DOL indicate that this is a reasonable option. We would appreciate core details on the environmental review schedule as they develop.

Very truly yours,

~

9 The response to Question 9-6 on steam line and feedwiter line breaks was originally scheduled for May 3, 1974 Difficulties is the cathematical modeling of IMI-2 parameters in the appropriate computer program have caused that response to be delayed.

We now plan to respond to that question on July 15,1974.

The response to Question 9-7 on jet forces used in calculation of structural loads is due on June 18.

Because of the current work load on the structural engineering group at the architect-engineer, this response has not been cocpleted. We are now planning to submit that response on July 1, 1974.

The AEC Site Analysis Branch questions represent a large body of work for the one discipline at the structural engineering group, the architect-engineer, resulting in a large de=and upon the manpower and rescerces of one depart =ent.

In addition, a large number of the questions require input from other organizations. The responses which are delayed, 13 - 20, 28, 29, 30, 31, 37, 38, 41, 42, 46, and 48 through 55, will be submitted in the July 1 and July 15 amend =ents.

The response to Questions 10-1 through 10-19 on Operational Quality Assurance was originally scheduled for May 3,1974.

We requested a later submittal date in order to reflect in the QA Plan for TMI-2 those improve-cents which can be nade as a result of our experience in implementing the plan far TMI-1.

The responses to these questions will be submitted by July 15, 1974.

The response to Question 12-12 on control room habitability was promised 90 days from March 20, 1974 at the meeting.

In your letter of April 18 it was listed for June 3.

The analysis of potential leakage path into the control room could not be cocpleted in time for the June 3 A=endment.

The response will be submitted on June 18, 1974.

The response to Question 12-13 will be partially given in the June 18, 19 74 A=endmen t. Part 1, however, was delayed due to the amount of time required to make the req' tired analysis. As stated in our initial response to the question filed May 6,1974 this response was based, in part, on the response to Question 12-12.

Part 1 of the response will be filed on August 1, 1974.

Very truly yours,

~
