Dear Mr. Giambusso:
SU3 JECT: THREE MILE ISLA';D UNIT 2 DOCKET No. 50-320 ADDITIONAL T.NFORMATION REQUIREME';TS on March 19, 1974 Yetropolitan Edison received your " Additional Infor-nation Require:nents" for Three Mile Island Unit 2 (TMI-2).
On April 18, 1974 you trans=itted a schedule for st'mittal of responses to these quencions.
Arrangenents were made by telephone between our representatives and Mr. Washburn of the DOL to submit responses to some questions at a later date. We are unable to :ncet schedules on certain other of these questions.
This letter describes the problees that have prevented these questions being submitted according to the April 18 schedule.
Question 1-12 on Appendix 3E, the Tendon Grout Report, will be submitted on August 1, 1974 This response was delayed due to the fact that it was based on a report from a censultant to the architect-engineer and further time was required for analysis of the report by the structural encineering group at the architect-engineer.
In addition to this analysis and writing, the structural engineering group has had a large number of questions in the "Additione.1 Information Requirements" for which they were required to write responses.
The response to Question 8-1 on new fuel racks was delayed due to the time requirei to obtain infor=ation on these racks. The racks were procured with the intention to use them in two different locations during different phases in the construction of the two units at Three File Island.
a s eis=1c analysis at trie new location was required. This response will be submitted in a June 18, 1974 Acendment to the FSAR.
