'"he discharge pressure switch for the =akeup pump vas originally intended to be a redundant indication of Icv suctica pressure.
It was set to clear an ala.._
and pump stcp centrcl function as discharge pressure exceeded 80 psig.
If tha pressure were to stay lov, it vculd have been r. indication of pu=p cavitatica r.nd therefore, icv suction pressure.
'"he original icgic called fcr a icv sucticn pressure alar _. and pu=p trip after a time delay for coincident icv suction and discharre c.ressure (a 2 sienal interlcek). Since icv suction pressu e is interlceked to prevent pump strt-up cr trip the pump :.f it is running by other

Analysis of Safety Irelications Under LCCA conditions, high pressure injection would not be available.
Corrective Acticn The preposed correc+ive action for the =ake-up pump discharge pressure switch interlock problem is as fellevs:
The Discharge Pressure Svitch vill be retained to alar = at a.
about 2200 psig to alert the cperator to a potential less of RC Pu=p Seal injectica water flev.
b.
The centrol function frcm this svitch will be discennected, as vill the associated time delay relay and redundant suctica pressure svitch centacts.
c.
The pump vill still be tripped en lov suction pressure at any time.
Very truly ycurs,
