- MaryLou, The NRC staff has reviewed your comments and acknowledge that both identified discrepancies are indeed errors made by the staff. Both bullet points as indicated in your message below and in the mark-up attachment are correct. The staff has determined that the identified errors do not impact the final safety conclusions as stated in the SE for License Amendment No. 273 dated May 28, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19126A000)
. A correction letter is not warranted. This e-mail communication will be added to ADAMS as an official agency record.
Please contact me if you have any follow-up questions.
- Thanks, Rich

[External_Sender] Discrepancies Identified in SE for MPS3 License Amendment 273
- Rich,
Dominion has identified two errors in the safety evaluation (SE) for MPS3 Amendment 273, TS Changes for Spent Fuel Storage and New Fuel Storage.
SER Section 3.4.3.3.3, page 8 states that we did not consider planar burnup distribution, however, LAR Attachment 5, Sections 9.6.6 and 9.9.5 did address the effect of planar burnup distribution (included as a bias labeled Radial Burnup Tilt).
SER Section 3.4.4 states that removing two peripheral rods increased k-eff. LAR, Section 11.3.2, paragraph above Figure 11.5 states that it reduced k-eff.
The relevant pages from the SE are attached for reference.
