Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for Subsequent License Renewal of Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 3 and 4
Good afternoon, The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is conducting a review of the environmental effects of renewing the operating licenses for Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 3 and
- 4. As part of its review, the NRC has prepared a draft site-specific Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to its Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, NUREG-1437. The draft SEIS includes analyses of relevant environmental issues, including potential impacts to historic, archaeological and cultural resources from activities associated with license renewal. A copy of the draft SEIS is available via the following link: https://www.nrc.gov/docs/ML1907/ML19078A330.pdf
As stated in NRCs letter to your Tribe dated April 3, 2019 (a copy of the letter is attached),
pursuant to 36 CFR 800.8(c), we are requesting your comments on the draft SEIS and on our preliminary conclusions. If you have any questions concerning NRCs license renewal review, please contact me at 630-829-9734 or by e-mail at Nancy.Martinez@nrc.gov.
Thank you, Nancy
