  • 3rd and 4th FEI if Commission approves 4-yr or 5-yr cycle Staff next steps Inform the Commission of staff intentions to select Inspection Procedures 71111.21N (FEIs) as indicated in SECY 18-0113. The new FEIs are as follows:

Fire Protection (FP) Focused Engineering Inspection (FEI) replaces current triennial FP Power-Operated Valves (POV) (FEI) is the next focused 71111.21N inspection replacing Environmental Qualification The 3rd and 4th FEIs, should the Commission approve of a 4 or 5 year inspection cycle, are TBD.

Reactor Oversight Process ROP Enhancement Project Inspection Area

The following Baseline IPs were recommended for changes:

71111.01, Adverse Weather Protection - Reduce 1 Sample and 12 Hours 71111.04, Equipment Alignment - Reduce 3 Samples and 24 Hours 71111.05, Fire Protection - Increase 1 Sample and 5 Hours 71111.06, Flood Protection Measures - Reduce 1 Sample and 8 Hours 71111.13, Maintenance Risk Assessment and Emergent Work Control -

Revise sample range based on number of operating units at a site.

Nominal reduction of 2 Samples and 5 Hours 71111.18, Plant Modifications - Reduce 2 Samples and 21 Hours Combine IP 71111.19 and 71111.22:

71111.19, Post maintenance Testing - Reduce 24 Samples and 84 Hours 71111.22, Surveillance Testing - Increase 12 Samples and 42 Hours ALARA procedure recommended for retirement based on continuous decline in occupational exposure 4
