A.pdf image001.png Dan/Pat, As DOE requested during the July 2018 Saltstone Disposal Facility (SDF) Onsite Observation Visit, please see attached for the NRC staff preliminary comments on the DOE document, SRRA107772-000009, Rev. A, Predicting Long-Term Percolation from the SDF Closure Cap, dated April 23, 2018.
This early input from the NRC should help DOE in their current preparations for the expected 2019 SDF Performance Assessment (PA), which will completely replace the DOE 2009 SDF PA and its supplements (i.e., SDF Special Analysis Documents).
The DOE document, SRRA107772-000009, Rev. A, is publicly available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) in Accession No. ML18170A244.
