VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, UNIT 3 ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT REGARDING COLUMN LINE 1 WALL REINFORCEMENT AREA CHANGE (LAR-18-026) (EPID L-2018-LLA-0278)
Dear Mr. Whitley:
In response to your application dated October 19, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted the enclosed Amendment No. 156 to Combined License (COL) No.
NPF-91 for Southern Nuclear Operating Facility Companys (SNC) Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 3.
The amendment authorizes changes in the form of departures from the generic AP1000 Design Control Document Tier 2* information in the VEGP Tier 2 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report to reflect changes to the vertical reinforcement information provided in the VEGP Unit 3 column line 1 wall, from elevation 135 0 to 137 0.
A copy of the related Safety Evaluation, which includes the evaluation of the amendment is also enclosed. The notice of issuance of the amendment, included in this letter, will be published in the Federal Register.
