- -i In response to your letter of June 29, 1978, which was received on July 3, 1978, we offer the following information concerning\\-~
the diesel-generator alarm and control circuitry:

Relay Test Switches
~*
Test switches DS-15, DS-8, 24-86B-2, and 24-86BD-2 are under administrative control as described in the previous response to the NRC concerning diesel-generator alarms.
These switches will be modified so that whenever contacts of the switch are operated which could prevent the automatic start of the die-sel-generators, an alarm will appear on the auxiliary annun-ciator.
The alarm will be appropriately worded to alert the operator of such a condition.
Separate alarms will be pro~
vided for each diesel-generator.
Manual Shutdown Lockout Relay Salem does not incorporate a manual shutdown lockout relay of the type described in the NRC letter.
Manual lockout of the diesel-generators at Salem is accomplished with a lock-out switch which was described in the previous response to the NRC on this subject.
Appropriate alarms are provided to alert the operator of operation of the switch.
