UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 Mr. Bryan C. Hanson Senior Vice President Exelon Generation Company, LLC President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Nuclear LaSalle County Station 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555 January 23, 2019
SUBJECT:
LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2-CORRECTION LETTER FOR LICENSE AMENDMENTS TO RENEWED FACILITY OPERA TING LICENSES RE: APPLICATION TO REVISE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TO ADOPT TSTF-542, "REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL WATER INVENTORY CONTROL" (EPID L-2017-LLA-0415)
Dear Mr. Hanson:
By letter dated October 15, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18226A202), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued Amendment Nos. 230 and 216 to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-11 and NPF-18 for the LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, respectively. The amendments were in response to your application dated December 13, 2017, as supplemented by letter dated June 18, 2018 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML17360A159 and ML18169A401, respectively).
The NRC staff has identified that due to inadvertent error, the revised technical specification pages TS 3.5.2-1 and TS 3.5.2-2 issued with the amendments did not match those submitted by the licensee. Specifically, on page TS 3.5.2-1, the text of REQUIRED ACTION 8.1 read"...
offsite power." instead of"... offsite electrical power."; and on page TS 3.5.2-2, CONDITION C, missed a period at the end of the description.
The NRC staff has concluded that the error was introduced during the preparation of the license amendment. The correction does not change any of the conclusions in the safety evaluation associated with the amendments and does not affect the associated notice to the public.
The corrected pages are enclosed with this letter. We apologize for the inconvenience.
