- Area Code 517 788-0550 June 1, 1976 DOCKET 50-255, LICENSE DPR-20 PALISADES PLANT, ER-76-16 MAIN STEAM ISOLATION VALVE On May 17, 1976, we advi'sed you by telex of an event which relates to the Palisades main steam isolation valves (MSIV).
As discussed on May 27, 1976 with E. Jordan (NRC), we have concluded that this event is not reportable since performance of one valve was not assumed in the Palisades accident analysis in the safety analysis report or in the Technical Specifications basis.
A report of our study into the design of the presently installed MSIV is being prepared for submittal to the Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
A copy of that report will be forwarded to you for your information.
