Framatome Inc. (Framatome), per the provisions of 10 CFR 71.19(c), formally requests an amendment to Certificate of Compliance 9319 for the MAP packaging.
Framatome has a commercial need to make a lead test assembly shipment to a commercial U.S. Reactor beginning January 16, 2019.
We are submitting this application for changes to the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) as a result of a new accident tolerance fuel (ATF) design involving a thin chromium coating applied to the fuel cladding. The chromium coating improves the mechanical and criticality safety performance of the fuel cladding. This is the only change being requested.
Included in this application are seven attachments that support the requested amendment.
Attachment A (Proprietary) is the updated application, FS1-0038397, MAP PWR Fuel Shipping Package - USA/9319/B(U)F-96.
Attachment B (Proprietary) is a list of affected page changes from the SAR (Attachment A)
Attachment C (Non-Proprietary) is the redacted version of the updated application, FS1-0038397, MAP PWR Fuel Shipping Package - USA/9319/B(U)F-96.
