PALISADES PLANT Steam Generator Flushing Report No 6 This report covers the period from April 28, 1975 to May 31, 1975.
In compliance with Appendix C to the Provisional Operating License DPR-20, as revised March 28, 1975, graphs are attached showing steam generator:
- 1.
Phosphate.and Sulphate Concentration
- 2.
Conductivity (µmho/cm)
- 3.
pH
- 4.
Weight of Phosphate and Sulphate Removed These graphs detailing steam generator chemistry for this period show the stability achieved with AVT.
Steam Generator P04 has remained 0.2-0.4 ppm.
Steam Generator S04 has remained less than detectible (<1.0 ppm).
Blowdown from the steam generators has been nearly continuous at 5000 lb/h per steam generator.
The a.mount of phosphate removed from the steam generators increased during this period by a little over one pound per generator.
Steam.generator pH control during this period has alternated between ammonia and morpholine; however, the relationships between the concentrations of these volatiles and expected pH has not held, with pH being lower than expected.
The reason for this condition is currently under study.
Suspended solids in the blowdown have averaged about 0.5 ppm from both steam generators during this period.
