PUBLIC NOTICE North Carolina Wake County In Re Application of Application For Carolina Power and Light Company Certification TAKE NOTICE that Carolina Power and Light Company, Post Office Box 1551, Raleigh, North Carolina 27602, has made applica-tion to the Beard of Mater and Air Resources for certification that the discharge of cooling water from the Shearon Harris Plant into the waters of the impoundment to be formed. by White Oak and Buckhorn Creeks will not violate applicable water quality standards.
The project includes the plant, a plant auxiliary pond, a cooling tower make-up pond which will provide storage for make-up water for the operation of the plant s cooling towers and. a pumping station 'n the Cape Fear River.
Additional information concerning the project may be reviewed at the Offices of the Water guality Division, Office of Water and Air Resources, 216 West Zones Street, Raleigh, North Carolina. Copies of such materials will be furnished to any person requesting copies upon payment'f the costs thereof to the Office Budget Officer.
The Board. of Mater and Air Resources proposes to take final action in the issuance of the certification on or after the 1st day of October, 1973.
All persons desiring to make comment upon the application should do so in writing, delivered to the Board of Water and Air Resources, Post Office Box 27687, Raleigh, North Carolina 27611, on or before the 1st day of October, 1973.
