Group of Seven (G7) Nuclear Safety and Security Group (NSSG) Meeting Dates of Travel and Countries/Organizations Visited:
April 24-27, 2018; Ottawa, Canada Desired Outcome:
To represent the NRC on a U.S. delegation led by the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and ensure that U.S. regulatory perspectives are included in G7 discussions on nuclear safety and security topics of mutual interest.
Results Achieved:
The traveler represented NRC equities in discussions on how G7 countries can collaborate to advance mutual goals in nuclear safety and security, including delivery of a presentation about the NRC's regulatory development assistance program. The traveler also met with counterparts at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
Summary of Trip:
From April 25-26, the traveler joined Patricia Metz, Senior Advisor in OOS's Office of Nuclear Energy, Safety, and Security, in representing the United States at the G7 Nuclear Safety and Security Group (NSSG) meeting.
