Oyster Creek Permanently Ceases Power Operations Importance: High Mr. Helker:

After approximately 49 years of operation, the electrical generator was taken offline at 12:00 pm and the Oyster Creek reactor was scrammed at 12:33 pm on Monday, September 17, 2018. Exelon has permanently ceased power operations at Oyster Creek.

Oyster Creek received its Construction Permit on December 15, 1964. Oyster Creek went into Commercial Operation on December 23, 1969. Oyster Creek received its Renewed Facility Operating License on April 8, 2009.
