- Shawn, The vendor informed us late yesterday of a minor change to the non-code repair. In section 6, third paragraph, of our Relief Request we described the repair as:
The non-code repair is planned to consist of a compression tape or a clamp with rubber gasket material to initially seal the leaks. A composite wrap impregnated with water activated resin will then be installed and allowed to cure. The repair technique is designed to conform to, and is recognized by ASME PCC-2, "Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping".
A more accurate description would be:
The non-code repair is planned to consist of a compression tape or a clamp with rubber gasket material to initially seal the leaks. A fiber wrap coated with a two-part resin will then be installed. The repair technique is designed to conform to, and is recognized by ASME PCC-2, Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping.
While this minor change is not significant to the NRCs approval of the relief request, we did want to inform you of the change. We will be glad to provide a supplement correcting this sentence next week, if needed.
