On August 1, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff sent Entergy Operations, Inc. (the licensee, Entergy) a draft Request for Additional Information (RAI) as provided in the attached document. These RAI questions relate to a license amendment request (LAR) that proposes to update an emergency action level (EAL) scheme change for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS).

Entergy informed the NRC staff that a clarification call was needed, and this call was held on August 30, 2018.

Subsequently, Entergy informed the NRC staff that the questions were understood and Mr. Jeffery Seiter agreed to provide a response to this final RAI on or before October 15, 2018. If Entergy does not respond by this date, the requested completion date for the EAL scheme change decision may not be met by the NRC.

The NRC staff also informed the licensee that a publicly available version of this final RAI would be placed in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).

By letter dated April 27, 2018 (ADAMS package Accession No. ML18117A514), the licensee requested an amendment to the Operating License for GGNS. The proposed amendment requests an EAL scheme change to update to the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 99-01, Revision 6. The NRC staff requires additional information to complete its review of this request as detailed in the attached document.
