During this meeting, you stated that you vere constrained to require cooling towers to be buQt at the Shearon Harris Plant in that the applicant~s original proposal mould, in your vie@, be illegal In view of this interpretation of,EPA xesponsibilities, ne stated that ve have no alternative but to exyedite publication of the revised Environmental Xmpact Statement.

Xn this statement ve anticipate providing our analysis of the,envixon-m ntal impact of the Shearon Harris Plant as nov proposed rdth cooling tours as compared vith the previous plant design vith open cycle cooling, but a larger cooling lake We further plan to explain the bases for the various positions taken relative to plant cooling.

To assure that tm accurately describe your viev, please reconfirm your meeting position.
