Dear Mr. Engelken:
We have reviewed the IE Bulletin 77-04 dated November 4,
1977 regarding a calculational error affecting the design performance of a system for controlling pH of containment sump water following a LOCA.
We intend to use trisodium phosphate dodecahydrate (TSP) for pH control in the containment sump for Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2
5 3; however, we have not finalized 'the design nor completed all calculations at this time..
Our calcu-lations will be based on conservative worst case inputs for boric acid content and water volumes, and the design specifications will be met for, all operating 'conditions permitted by the tech-nical specifications'he results of these calculations will be presented in the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2
