Dear Mr. Engelken:
In re'ference to your IE Bulletin 77-05 which discussed failures of certain electrical connector assemblies tested by Sandia Laboratories, we have completed.
a review to determine if the concern identified will be present at PVNGS.
Bechtel Corporation, our architect engineer responsible for the balance-of-plant
- systems, has verified that all 1E safety related equipment within their scope of supply located inside containment is furnished without the connector arrangement described within the Bulletin.
Combustion Engineering, our Nuclear Steam Supply System ven-
- dor, has verified that there are no connectors of this type used in safety related'ystems required to be used during a
LOCA inside of the containment.
I, We feel due to our verification that there are no connectors of this type inside containment used in safety related systems required for use dur,ing a LOCA,.we will not be subject to the problems with these electrical connector assemblies at PVNGS.
