NOTICE OF MEETING WITH X-ENERGY TO PROVIDE PRE-APPLICATION INFORMATION REGARDING THE TRISO-X FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY LICENSE APPLICATION DATE & TIME: August 24, 2018 1:15PM - 4:00PM LOCATION: USNRC, TWFN 7-D-30 11545 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD PURPOSE OF MEETING: To provide a pre-application introduction and scheduling information related to an application for a first of a kind commercial TRISO fuel fabrication facility. X-Energy is planning to apply for a license for a Category (CAT) II fuel fabrication facility as defined in 10 CFR Part 70, Domestic Licensing of Special Nuclear Material, since the planed enrichment is higher than the CAT III limit.
CATEGORY1 1: This is a Category 1 meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned. Members of the public who wish to attend are encouraged to telephone or e-mail the NRC contact listed below for additional information on the items to be discussed at the meeting. Portions of the meeting may include discussion of Proprietary or Official Use Only Information and will be closed to the public.
