Extension Request for providing DFP Financial Assurance Instruments to the NRC
Reference:
Letter, K. M. Ramsey to Timothy J. Tate; "Partial Acceptance of Framatome Triennial Update to Decommissioning Funding Plan (Enterprise Project Identifier L-2018-DFA-001; July 9, 2018)
In the Safety Evaluation Report conveyed by the referenced letter, the NRC stated "We request that you obtain financial instrument that guarantees funds in the amount of this estimate. The financial instrument should be submitted within 30 days of this letter."
After consulting with Framatome corporate personnel who are tasked with obtaining these financial assurance instruments, they have indicated that Framatome will be unable to execute this action within 30-days and respectfully request a 90-day extension to the required delivery date.
