Dear Mr. Regan':
In response to the phone conversation of March 25, 1975, with you and Mr. R.
- Bevan, we wish to clarity 'statements made in Section 5.7 of the PVNGS Environmental Report concerning the use of waste water for cooling purposes.
In.April of 1973, the then Participants in the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station contracted with the City of Phoenix for the optional use.of 'up to 140,000 acre-feet per year.
This agreement was based on an estimated consumption rate of 35,000 acre-feet per year, per unit, for an assumed 4-unit station.
Since this appli-cation concerns three units and since current engineering estimates of consumption are less than originally estimated, we believe that the maximum use of waste water for this application will be approximately 75,800 acre-feet per year, as stated in Section 3.3.1 of the Environ-mental Report.
