This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) administered initial
retake examination led by Ronald F. Aiello during the week of September 28,
1992, to one employee of your company who ~ad applied for a license to operate
your Surry Nuclear Station. At the conclusion of the examination, preliminary
findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the
enclosed report.
A sim~lator fidelity evaluatipn is provided as Enclosure 2.

The Generic Fundamental Examination*Section (GFES) results for the last two*
examinations were as follows.
No candid~tes participated in the June 1992 *
examination.
In October 1992 seven candidates were examined and passed for a
100% success rate.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2. 790 of the Commi_ssi ons' regul at i ans, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document R~om.
