VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 SUPPLEMENT TO REPLY TO A NOTICE OF VIOLATION NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-280/92-04 AND 50-281/92-04 In NRC Inspection Report Nos. 50-280/92-04 and 50-281/92-;04 dated April 27, 1992, we were cited for failure to properly correct high head safety injection-pump lube oil
- temperature control valve (TCV) deficiencies. In our reply, we committed to correct the condition adverse to quality by replacing the TCVs with valves better adapted to the working conditions.
These replacements were completed as scheduled, and full compliance with operational requirements has been achieved.
As a further improvement, we had also planned to replace the associated temperature controllers.
However, based on the reliable performance of the replacement valves thus far, we have concluded that replacement of the controllers is not required at this time. Should additional problems arise in the future, we will reevaluate this decision.
