FACILITY: Surry Power Station, Units 1 and 2
SUBJECT:
OCTOBER 23, 1991, TRIP REPORT Messrs. H. Berkow, B. Buckley, K. Campe, S. Diab and J. Schiffgens of the NRC staff visited the Surry Power Station on October 23, 1991.
The purpose of the visit was to walk down various systems and components, such as motor operated valves and expansion joints and pumps, as they relate to the internal flooding scenarios described in VEPCO's Independent Plant Examination Report.
Areas that were included in the walkdown were the circulating and service water systems, turbine and service buildings where the main condensers, emergency switchgear rooms, motor control centers and sump pumps are located, the high level water intake structure, stop logs and associated equipment.
