ENCLOSURE Meeting Summary On January 16, 1990, representatives of Virginia Electric and Power Company met with NRC personnel in Atlanta, Georaia.
Licensee representatives described the meeting as a status report on the emergency preparedness upgrade program. This meeting was the third presentation made regarding EP program improvements since the end of the prior SALP assessment period.
Licensee representatives emphasized during this meeting the progress of their actions by noting that 121 previously designated detail task items had been completed.
These actions continue to address the 19 functional areas for improvement i~entified during an earlier briefing. Discussion alsb addressed the status of the Corporate and Site (Surry and North Anna) EP staff recruitment as well as actions ongoing to correct augmentation response times.
A 1 icensee representative indicated a letter to the NRC was forthcoming that included withdrawal of a previous request to the NRC made concerninq augmentation revisions.
Other issues of mutual interest were discussed in the area of emergency preparedness.
Discussions addressed the routine inspection at Surry Power Station the week of January 8, 1990, and the perception of the program progress.
No commitments were requested; however, a licensee representative indicated that the list of tasks completed would be matrixed aaainst the 19 functional areas to assess progress made in the functional areas and provided to Region II.
