CONFIRMATION OF CONCURRENCE REGARDING COMPLETION OF ITEMS PRIOR TO RESTART OF SURRY UNIT 2 This refers to our Confirmation of Action Letter (CAL) dated March 9, 1989, which detailed your commitments for resolving issues prior to restart of the Surry units.
In correspondence dated July 7, 1989, we concurred in your restart of Unit 1.
In correspondence dated July 28 and August 31, 1989, and a meeting in Region II on September 1, 1989, you provided a status of the issues identified in the subject CAL for Unit 2.
You verified that the CAL items have been resolved for Unit 2, and that the unit was, therefore, ready for restart.
We have reviewed your actions with respect to the commitments identified in the CAL, and found them to be satisfactory.
Our concurrence of completion of the CAL items for Surry Unit 2 was provided in the September 8, 1989, telephone conversation between L. Reyes of my staff and J. Wilson of your staff and is further confirmed in this letter.
This letter also confirms that all the issues identified in the March 9, 1989, CAL have now been completed for both units.
