CONFIRMATION OF MEETING ARRANGEMENTS - SURRY, DOCKET NOS. 50-280 AND 50-281 This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Malcolm Ernst and you regarding our request for a management meeting.
This meeting has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., March 30, at One White Flint North Offices in Rockville, Maryland.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the results of any assessments you have caused to be performed of your nuclear operations and managements and how you anticipate your recently announced interim organizational changes w*i 11 address any identified weaknesses.
We are fully aware of the short-t~rm hardware and procedural improvements that are being made prior to restart, as documented in our Confirmation of Action Letter dated March 9, 1989.
- However, we want to have a better understanding of your overall, long-term improvement plan to assure that events similar to the numerous problems that have occurred over the past year do not continue in the future.
