CONFIRMATION OF ACTION LETTER - SURRY POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 This letter refers to our telephone conversation of September 6, 1988, concerning a partial loss of water from the Surry Unit 1 refueling cavity on May 17, 1988.
It is our understanding that prior to the introduction of water into the refueling cavity in preparation for refueling Surry Unit 2, you will meet with the NRC in Atlanta, GA to discuss the root cause(s) of the May 17, 1988, event; the design, installation and operation of the refueling cavity sea 1 s; any modifications to equipment, procedural changes and additional training required prior to initiation of refueling operations for Surry Unit 2; and any other corrective actions that may be appropriate.
If your understanding is different, please contact this office promptly.
