50-280 50-281 License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 Virginia Electric and Power Company letter, Serial No.86-493, requested approval for the disposal of very low-level radioactively contaminated soil at its Surry Power Station.
The request for approval to dispose of soil from the Radiological Control Area (RCA) was made as part of a comprehensive renovation project at Surry Power Station to upgrade the station's environment.
Work on the renovation project has proceeded to a point that we now conclude that it is not necessary to dispose of soil from the RCA.
Based on this assessment, we hereby withdraw our 10 CFR 20.302(a) disposal request of November 26, 1986.
