SUMMARY

REGARDING THE NOVEMBER 4, 1985 INTEGRATED SCHEDULE AND REGULATORY GUIDE 1.97 SCHEDULE REGARDING CORE EXIT THERMOCOUPLES A meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland with Virginia Electric and Power Company and NRR representatives on November 4, 1985 to discuss the submission of an Integrated Implementation Schedule (IIS) and the schedule regarding Core Exit Thermocouple upgrade at Surry. Enclosed is a list of meeting attendees.

The schedule for the core exit thermocouples (CETs) upgrade was discussed briefly.

VEPCO stated that the possibility existed for the CETs not to be operational by the end of the next refueling outage for Unit 1 due to the availability of certain electronic hardware.

However, all the thermocouples will be available and installed. Completion of the electrical installation would be expected to be compl~ted around August 1986.

Discussions of the meeting centered around the IIS, a projected timetable of IIS activities including the estimated initial submittal date of the amendment required, following discussions with the staff, and the estimated date for the issuance of the amendment.

VEPCO subsequently submitted the IIS amendment request on December 13, 1985 and a follow-up meeting with the staff was held on February 5, 1986.
