Monthly report of activity measurements R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Unit No. 1 Docket 50-244

Dear Mr. Skovholt:

As required under the interim conditions for operation as directed in your letter of june 23, 1972, the Reporting Requirements for the period of july 26, 1972 through August 25, 1972 are herewith submitted.

7.1 During this period .0076 curies of radioactive material (excluding tritium and gases) were discharged with liquid wastes. For two months of the quarter the total release was .0112 curies which is less than 2/3 of the quarterly limit of 2.5 curies.

7.2 The average release rate for noble gases in the gaseous waste this month was .219 millicuries per second. The limit value is 2.4 millicuries per second.

7.3 The following table shows the maximum, minimum and average activity values for primary, secondary and liquid waste samples. Primary coolant and secondary coolant degassed beta-gamma radio activity were measured daily.

No power changes greater than 10% occurred and no sig-nificant increases on secondary activity were noted. A radio-chemical analysis was made three times per week on the primary coolant.
