Recent JRc inspections of plants located in other Regions have identified a number of areas in which the requirements of* the Fire Protection Rule of 10 CFR 50 Section 48 and Appendix R have not been adequately implemented.
To help resolve any misunderstandings associated with the Appendix R requirements, a workshop will be conducted on May 4,
This meeting will provide open discussion with the attendees concerning any questions pertinent to the Appendix R requirements.
The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.
and end at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Participants in the meeting will be personnel from NRC 1 s Offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Inspection and Enforcement.
Members of your staff are i:nvi ted to this meeting.
It is suggested that personnel from your licensing, design engineering, operational plant staff, and fire protection organization as well as a representative fro~ the architectural and engineering and/or consulting firm who performed the Appendix R review of your plant attend this meeting.
