10 CFR 50 APPENDIX R - FIRE PROTECTION WORKSHOP
-IE HQ FILE OOiPX Recent NRC inspections of plants located in other Regions have identified a number of areas in which the requirements of the Fire Protection Rule of 10 CFR 50 Section 48 and Appendix R have not been adequately implemented.
Therefore, a workshop meeting will be conducted on March 16, 1984, in the Region II 29th floor conference room to discuss the Appendix R requirements and the results of the recent Appendix R inspections to help resolve any misunder-standings associated with the requirements.
This meeting wi 11 provide open discussion with the attendees concerning any questions pertinent to the Appendix R requirements.
The meeting will begfn at 9:00 a.m. and end at approxi-mately 4:00 p.m.
Participants in the meeting will be personnel from NRC 1 s Offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Inspection and Enforcement.
Members of your staff are invited to this meeting.
However, in view of the limited size of our conference room, it is requested that you limit the number of attendees to approximately six.
It is suggested that personnel from your licensing, design engineering and operational plant staff as well as a repre-sentative from the architectural and engineering and/or consulting firm who performed the Appendix R review of your plant attend this meeting.
