By letter dated January 3i, 1984, the Division of Licensing (DL) staff informed your Company of their approva 1 of your application dated August 25, 1983 and issued Amer1dment Nos. 94 and 93 to Facility Operat~
ing License Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37.
This application proposed changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) to remove certain snubbers and to add the Supervisor of !-lea 1th Physics for the Surry Pmver Station Unit Nos. 1 and 2. - A Class III fee ($4~000) and a Class I fee ($400} were remitted with your application pursuant to iO CFR 170.22.
By letter dated October 4, 1983, you remitted a Class II fee ($1 ~200) and a Class I fee {$400) in response to ow** request for additional fees dated Sep-tember 15~ 1983.
It has come to our attention that Surry Unit Nos. 1 and 2 share a common set of Technical Specifications.
Therefores we have determined that a second duplicate Class I fee ($400) for your August 25 application is not appropriate since the issuance of Amendment Nos. 94 and 93 only in-volved a single administrative effort because of the commonality of the TS.
He have concluded that an exemption pursuant to 10 CFR 170. ll{b) from the fee requirements is authorized by law~ and such exemption is.
otherwise in the public interest and is hereby granted for the second C1ass I duplicate fee remitted for your.l\\ugust 25 application.
Conse-quently~ we have concurrentiy authorized the Divisfon of Accounting and Finance to refund the sum of $400 to your Company.
