The letters indicate that a common backup EOF would be located 43 miles from the North Anna plant site and 51 miles from the Surry plant site at the Headquarters Emergency Center in downtown Richmond, Virginia.
The primary EOF for the North Anna site will be located onsite 0.25 miles from the reactor containment and the primary EOF for the Surry site will be located onsite 0.2 miles from containment.
This letter is tofidvise you that the Commission finds that your position is acceptable with regard to the location of both your backup and primary EOF for these plants~ Approval of the location of these facilities assumes that the facilities will be constructed with all features as described.
Approval of the Emergency Response Facilities (ERFs) themselves will be determined during a postimplementation appraisal to be conducted at the Surry and North Anna sites by the NRC when all your ERFs have been completed.
