We have reviewed your submittal s dated May 2:., and December 31, 1981 ~ and March 31, June 11, and June 30, 1982, related to the adequacy of station electric distribution system for Surry Power Station, Units No. 1 and 2.
Our review has found your system to be acceptable except for operating voltage to same motor operatred valves (MOV).
We understand that you are currently collecting manufacturer's data and completing studies which may result in the rerating or replacement of some 460 volt motor operators on MOVs that are not provided with satisfactory starting capabilities under the worst case conditions.
We request that you provide the results of the studies and a schedule for replacement of MOV if replacement is required to the NRG for review.
Please respond within 30 days of receipt of this letter with your sehedule for providing the studies and replacement schedule.
Enclosed is our Safety Evaluation and its attachment, LLL Technical Evaluation Report.
