SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 600 cbs 50-280 50-281 DPR-32 DPR-37 In our letter 171, Vepco to Harold R. Denton, dated March 22, 1982, which transmitted our nine (9) month response to the NRC letter, dated December 22, 1980, we stated that the new fuel container lifting rig at Surry Power Station was under review for conformance to ANSI Nl4.6-1978 as supplemented by NUREG-0612 Section 5.1.1(4). This review is complete and we have determined that the rig is not in compliance with Paragraph 3.2.1.1 of ANSI Nl4.6-1978.
A proposed design modification for conformance of the rig to this standard is currently being reviewed by Vepco and will be implemented by March 22, 1984 as required in yo~n December 22, 1980 letter.
Also, our letter 171 stated that the safe load path sketches for Surry Pov1er Station were being redrafted. This task is complete and the new safe load path sketches (13930. 12-MKS-15 through 28) are enclosed.
