By letter dated December 26, 1980, you provided information related to Auxiliary Feedwater System reliability for Surry Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2. Your letter was in response to Enclosure 2 of our September 25, 1 980 1 etter. Our review of submittals by other licensees has indicated that the feedwater line break ie often limiting. Our review of your December 26, 1980, submittal as well as your September 14, 1981 submittal indicates that you did not address this subject. Therefore, we request that you show that Surry l and 2 can provide 500 gpm Auxiliary Feedwater Flow to two or more steam generators in the affected plant or provide a suitable flow (perhaps involving operator action) based on appropriate analysis. You may refer-ence the analysis for another plant if applicable.
