Surry and North Anna Power Stations - NRC Request for Additional Information - High Burnup Radiological Consequences REF: Application for Withholding Proprietary Information, Ferguson to Denton, August 1981

Dear Mr. Denton:

The proprietary material for which withholding is b2ing requested by Virginia Electric Power Company (VEPCO) is of the same technical type as that pre-viously submitted in connection with a NRC Staff topical review. The previous application for withholding, AW-76-51, November 2, 1976, was accompanied by an affidavit signed by the owner of the proprietary inform&tion, Westinghouse Electric Corporation. This subject proprietary material is being submitted in response to an NRC request for additionaJ information concerning applicability of design decontamination factors to high burnup fuel.

  • Further, the affidavit, AW-76-51, *submitted to justify the previous material, is equally applicable to this material. Accordingly, this letter authorized the utilization of the previously furnished affidavit in support of the sub-ject request for information for Virginia Electric Power Company, Surry Units 1 and 2, North Anna Units l and 2.

Correspondence with respect to the proprietary aspects of the application for withholding or the Westinghouse affidavit should reference CAW-81-44, and should be addressed to the undersigned.
