License Nos. DPR-32 DPR-37 NPF-4 In response to requests made by yout staff in telephone conversations on April 7, 1980 and April 11, 1980 concerning the subject bulletin, we are providing the following information.
We previously provided to you a schedule for the submittal of the 45-day Report in our letter Serial No. 204, dated March 18, 1980.
Your staff expressed con-cern regarding the length of time required for the 45-day Report and requested that we resubmit a schedule for this report.
The schedule as originally pro-posed was predicated on the following:
- 1. "'"" Our interpretation of the bulletin which required that all appro-priate documentation, test reports, etc. be reviewed and on file prior to submittal of the report.
Difficulty in obtaining actual test reports on qualification lengthened the submittal schedule.
- 2.
Manpower limitations of -our Architect-Engineer who is assisting in the response to the subject bulletin. Personnel associated with the review are also involved with NUREG-0588 Review (Environmental Qual-

ification of Electrical Equipment) for North Anna Unit 2, NUREG-0578 Review (Design Review of Plant Shielding and Environmental Qualifi-
_cation) for specific material degradation concerns which is required by the NRC_TMI-2 "Lessons Learned" Task Force, other electrical sys-
- tems reviews required by IEB-79-27, and design modifications underway on Surry Unit 2 *

Additional field verification effort required to incorporate outside containment systems for Surry Units 1 and 2 on the "master lists" since they were not previously addressed on the IEB-79-01 submittal.

We were also requested to address the 90-day Report and provide a schedule of completion.
We indicated additio~al temperature and pressure profile analyses were ~ required to adequately address equipment qualification in areas outside containment affected by a High Energy Line Break (HELB).
It was reiterated that the Appendix to the FSAR ('72 HELB Report) would be used as a basis for break size and locations.
In addition to HELB concerns, the review of NUREG-'
. 0578 (Design Review of Plant Shielding and Environmental Qualification) affects the 90-day Report since it addresses radiation dose levels outside containment due to LOCA and associated circulation of contaminated fluids outside contain-ment.' This review is in final stages of completion but must be completed prior to calculating expected dose to affected electrical equipment.
Based,on the above considerations, we submit the following schedule of submit-tals:
