DSER completed, open items being resolved We have essentially completed our evaluation of the fire protection program for this plant.

The results of our review are described in the enclosed Draft Safety Evaluation Report.

We find the licensee 1s fire protection program acceptable subject to the implementation of the proposed modifications and the resolution of open items identified in Section 3.0 of the report.

Our consultant 1s report is scheduled to be completed by August 31, 1979.

Upon receipt of the consultant 1s report, we will provide to you the following:

1.

The completed Section 9.0, 11Consultant 1s Report 11 of the DSER which will identify those consultant recommendations which were not adopted by the staff;* and

2.

Appendix.B to the DSER which provides the staff responses to the consultant 1s report.

The SER should not be issued until Section 9.0 and Appendix Bare completed.

e e All modifications, including those that may arise from the resolution of open items should be implemented as soon as possible. The licensee should justify the delay of any modification to later than October 1980 by letter.

All commitments described in the OSER have been discussed with the licensee.
