Dear Mr. Breuning:
This letter is in response to an email you sent a member of my staff, Stephen Baker, on May 2, 2018, requesting the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) verification that your company, ViewRay Technologies Inc. is licensed by the state of Ohio to possess depleted uranium shielding heads in Type A transport containers. I understand that your customer in Italy is seeking the information in order to first, return Co-60 sources to Canada, and then send the transport containers to your company in Ohio. The NRC has confirmed that ViewRay Technologies is authorized to possess depleted uranium as shielding on State of Ohio License No. 03214180085.
Your customer in Italy is responsible for sending the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) an advanced notification of shipment of Co-60 to Canada. The CNSC can be reached at 613-995-5086.
