Enclosed is an application received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), dated March 14, 2018,from Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations, LLC. for a specific license (PXB220.00)to export Category 2 quantities of Americlum-241, Americium-241/Beryllium, Cesium-137, and Cobalt-60 to Sudan. The sealed source will be used for oil and gas well logging operations.
Since Sudan is on the embargoed destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.28), before taking action on this new request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
